Singing Water Loons - July 21, 2017 - The Cooking Water Loons
Wynchemna's well known for our breakfast rooms, where our students cook start their days with simple, healthy, hardy dishes: bacon and eggs, waffles and maple syrup, fresh fruit over creamy yogurt, all good. Today differed though, since we cooked in the evenings. Why? Today the Loons made the International Supper, showcasing food from Taiwan, Germany, Russia, Italy, Mexico, and the Czech Republic.Taiwan brought the heat, with some spicy tofu and fried noodles. Germany hit us heavy, with potato salad and chicken schnitzel; Russia packed flavour, with a bright purple borscht; Italy treated us nicely with some savoury Spaghetti Carbonara; Mexico made enchiladas and horchadas; and the Czech Republic constructed a delicious dessert to round out our meal and fill our bellies.Finished cooking, and - importantly cleaning - the students got to party. The sang some Karaoke, and believe me, the Singing Water Loons, sure do deserve their names. Actually, after today they should be the Cooking Water Loons![AFG_gallery id='651']
