A Stampede Breakfast and Drumheller!
’Twas another grand and exciting day here at Wynchemna with the students, starting off the day with a mouthwatering classic Canadian breakfast of pancakes, maple syrup, sausages, and baked beans! All courtesy of the Calgary Stampede, of which the students are exhilarated to participate in as the week goes by. After breakfast, the students headed back to SAIT to prepare for an awe-inspiring day of activities at Drumheller. Some of these activities include hiking at the Horseshoe Canyon, Waterparks, and a visit to the past at the Royal Tyrrell Museum! Before heading off to Drumheller, the students had a nutritious asian-style lunch of either butter chicken, glazed salmon, or beef satay. With their bellies filled, the team was soon packed up and ready to head to Drumheller for a thrilling day!
The students arrived at Drumheller, stopping at the Horseshoe Canyon first for a glorious hike along the canyon, sightseeing the views and distinctive landscape. There were many oohs and ahhs heard around the group as they made their way through the canyon. Everyone had an amazing time climbing up the uniquely formed rock structures. After the hike, the group headed to the Royal Tyyrell Museum to immerse themselves in the past and history of our world, meeting long extinct dinosaurs and other prehistoric life. Despite a storm raining on our parade, the students still had a great time on the bus; singing song after song as they ate burgers through the rain. After a day full of activities, the students cleaned and packed up for the journey back to Calgary. The day ended with a birthday party for Chiara who just turned 16 today! The team celebrated with a cake to share and gifts for her to open. Happy Birthday Chiara!
