All aboard the Wynchemna Express: Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump, Frank's Slide, Bomber Command Museum of Canada

All aboard the Wynchemna Express: a great big yellow school-bus departing on a south bound odyssey into Lower Alberta, an area known for its rich history and natural splendour! It also just so happens to be incredibly close to the border of Montana.

Our first stop of the day was at the Bomber Command Museum of Canada: a museum featuring many real planes that were used during WWII. It was a fun and informative visit. Students even got to board some of the classic airships! This stop was a surprise for many of the students and is an example of the many great surprises awaiting the students this summer.

The next stop was a place called Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump, an important historical site for Alberta’s Indigenous people. Students got to walk through the footsteps of history as they embarked on a short hike along the great cliffs upon the plains.

Next we visited Lundbreck Falls, a beautiful little canyon with waterfalls. Many students swam and enjoyed basking alongside the river.

Afterward, we rode the bus to a location called Frank’s Slide, the site of an infamojus landslide from over a century ago. Now it is home to beautiful views and a never ending sea of rocks. Students scaled many of the rocks in order to uncover even more beautiful views.

The final stop of the vening was for supper along the river side. While food was being prepared for us, we played with many different types of sports equipment. Students got the chance to bust out the water guns!

Though this was an action packed day, it is only a taste of the adventure to come!
