The Hares vs The Great Calgary Race!

What a big and exciting day it was here at Wynchemna! Today, the students had some lessons about travelling, culture, and some interesting topics such as the Ivory trade, dolphin’s social behaviours, and the holidays! After lessons, the kids had a huge lunch at the Northhill Mall with pizza and pasta! After lunch, all the students boarded the light rail train to Downtown Calgary to start The Great Calgary Race! In the race, the students had to complete a set of tasks and challenges all over Downtown Calgary to win. The race provided prompts on where the students had to go, visiting extraordinary landmarks and accomplishing numerous fun challenges by interacting with others from around the world.

The race had the students going from the Calgary Tower to the Calgary Public Library using only maps placed around Calgary and asking the locals for directions. Some of these tasks included having a stranger draw a portrait of them onto a T-Shirt or ask a stranger for a dance! Afterwards, the group ended their day eating a hearty dinner at the Rajdoot Restaurant where the students relished in a job well-done with some authentic Indian food. Some of the food they had were Kadhi Pakora, Chana Masala, and Butter Chicken. Delicious! After dinner, the team headed back to SAIT, ready for bed and excited for the upcoming day to Drumheller where they’ll spend some time with the Dinosaurs!
